About the Young Stroke Authors

The ages of the contributing young stroke authors in the book range between 19 - 58 years old at the time of their stroke/s. 


The locations at time of stroke or country of origin where our contributing authors are from are:

About their stroke experiences

Some of the authors had ischemic strokes, some had hemorrhagic strokes, some had both, some have had multiple TIA's and strokes. 

Some of the underlying causes were Aneurysm, AVM / DAVM, Arterial Dissection, Endocarditis, PFO, Moya Moya, Birth Control, Inflammation, and Lifestyle factors such as high blood pressure and stress.

Some of the causes remain unknown. 

The post-stroke challenges

There are many challenges during stroke recovery such as: Aphasia, Dysphasia, Emotional Regulation, Executive Functioning, Hemiplegia / Hemiparalysis, Identity Loss, Locked-In Syndrome, Nerve Damage, Neuro-fatigue, Pain, Relationships & Intimacy, Visual Impairment and much more...

Meet the Young Stroke Authors

At aged 35, Letisha Living from the Gold Coast, Australia had an ischemic stroke leaving her with Hemianopsia.  PFO was the underlying factor.
